The Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA) is an art museum in Edmonton. The museum building was originally designed by Donald G. Bittorf, and B. James Wensley, although portions of that structure were demolished or built over during a redevelopment of the building by Randall Stout.

LOCATION: Yesterday’s Auto Gallery. 8707 51 Ave. Edmonton’s non-profit classic car gallery with vehicles from 1926 to present. It also has an retro diner open to the public.

COST: Adult $20 Senior $10

TIME: 10:00 AM

Vintage vehicles are so much fun to look at, colourful and nostalgic with interesting details, but tricky to photograph. Check out Susan Kanfer’s tips.

Yes, you can take pictures of objects in space through a telescope, but the approach and equipment configurations will vary depending on the subject matter. With a manual telescope (such as a tabletop Dobsonian) you can take pictures with your smartphone through the eyepiece of the Moon, and larger planets such as Jupiter and Saturn.

Historical buildings, ancient spaces, statues, and structures have one major disadvantage for photographers. Since many people have photographed them before you there is a challenge to find an original take on them. So, look around inside/outside of the building for small details. The original purpose of the park was to educate visitors on the basics of the local energy (oil) industry, as well as illuminate some of the natural history of the area. The park’s pavilions, pathways, and amenities have been left unkempt, making it a genuine Edmonton ruin.
